A Model Citizen Response
Marcus Tullius Cicero, the great Roman orator and constitutionalist
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.” (source)

We thought it appropriate on this Independence Day to share an email that we sent to one LA officeholder back on Aug. 30th, 2011. He did not answer the call to help in our fight—in fact, he doubled-down and is still actively working against our natural and unalienable rights as Americans. We have edited it so that it may serve as an open letter to all officeholders who took the oath to uphold our state and U.S. constitutions. (Feel free to copy and paste and send to your officeholders):

We’ve been praying for quite some time that God would send heroes our way: people who have been in the system watching this train with no way to stop it--people who were sold on the goodness of the early initiatives and who felt powerless if and when they realized what the agenda actually was that they played a part in bringing to Louisiana--people who gave up on the rest of us ever waking up or engaging. We have thought that you were possibly one of those people. Maybe you are. Maybe you just don't realize how awake we are and how ready we are to assist exactly the type of person we described. Maybe you are just convinced that it is too late and the powers involved are invincible. Or, maybe the worst scenario is the truth: that the power and money that comes with cooperation is just too attractive.

Well, a couple of those ideas are blatantly false: it took an eternity, but we are now fully awake and engaged. The money and power behind this agenda are formidable, but not invincible--we are Americans, after all; and, are made of exactly the stuff that has always allowed us to win against the greatest of odds. While the money and power offered by this new governance and new finance are heady; and, while we are certain that many of you believe as Mr. Appel so aptly stated to us on the Senate floor two sessions ago: that ‘my kids go to St. Martins, so this won't apply to them,’ it would benefit all of you to consider that none of us have guarantees where our grandchildren and great-grandchildren are involved--could the destruction of our Constitutional Republic through these public-private partnerships come back to haunt us while in our graves? We believe so. It is our contention that we can wrestle control only so far into the future. We believed, after all, that our Constitution, alone, would protect our country from being transformed; and, that this protection would last for the ages. Obviously, we could not have been more wrong. We had forgotten that such protection also requires our eternal vigilance.

We will continue to pray for you and your family. We’re hoping that you are in a position to be one of the people who decide to help us to save our state; and, in so doing, save our nation. We will pray that you have any conviction toward the same.

Should you make any attempt in this direction and need our help in anyway, you know by now that we will do our best.”

God Bless Louisiana & God Bless America,
