Statement by Charlotte

I am saddened by the fact that a very few anti Common Core researchers have betrayed the long time education researchers who were responsible for the defeat of H.R. 5 ESEA (NCLB). They, with their well funded organizations, have claimed responsibility for this defeat, in some cases quoting and even using Anita Hoge's IMPECCABLE research.

As unfortunate as this betrayal of the true researchers is, we can not allow this to divert us from the initial goal of defeating H.R. 5 and the Senate related bills being drafted while I write.

A valuable lesson has perhaps been learned and that is the true conservative movement in the USA no longer exists, except at the grassroots level, which responded to the posts at my blog which started in January 2015. Credit can not be taken for this defeat by those who started posting almost 2 months later, nor by Heritage Foundation, which posted an alert on the day of the first scheduled vote and even had the nerve to put a donate button in order to make money for an effort they had nothing to do with.

Our grassroots researchers have never been involved with trying to be on first base. Our concern was, and is, for the future of our children and the continuation of the U.S. as a Constitutional Republic.
